The Autism Blogger was started on July 21st, 2008, when I heard an audio of Michael Savage spout disparaging remarks about autism and the families effected by it. Being a parent of an autistic child, it made my blood boil. But it also magnified how ignorant many people still are about this disorder.

So, here I am. I wanted to do something, say something, act on the anger and disgust I felt after I heard the tirade of a man who obviously has no authority to speak about something he has no understanding of, much less ever experienced firsthand. I’ve spent the last three to four years pouring over the internet looking for the most helpful sites and articles regarding autism Spectrum Disorders and I wanted to use this blog to post news, links, articles, whatever I could find that would help other parents find the help they need to help their children.
